Distinguished Service Award from an international HVAC society for an Associate Professor at DTU Civil Engineering

Pawel Wargocki, Associate Professor at the Section for Indoor Environment and Building Physics received Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) at their Annual Meeting in June in Long Beach California. The award acknowledges ASHRAE members who have served the society with distinction giving freely their time and talent.

Pawel Wargocki was recognized despite his short membership (officially joined ASHRAE in 2012). He served on the Standard 62.1 committee which is continuously maintaining the ventilation standard as a member, on the Environmental Health Committee as a member and a chair and on the committee which produced the Position Document on Air Filtration and Cleaning as a chair. He is now serving on the Research Administration Committee, which is awarding research grants and scholarships at the amount of about USD 2,000,000 annually. Pawel Wargocki has also contributed with several presentations at seminars held at ASHRAE meetings.

ASHRAE is an internationally recognized society

ASHRAE has about 57,000 members, and despite being an American society, it is international with about 20% of the members living outside the U.S.
